Our review program, including scheduled and emergent reviews, helps measure confidence in the Queensland disaster management arrangements. The reviews also identify risks and gaps and help prioritise areas of improvement.
We work with government agencies and other organisations to find solutions and give clear direction for the industry.
Emergent reviews are given to our office by the Minister for Police and Community Safety. Scheduled reviews are identified in consultation with stakeholders and environmental scanning activities.
All topics are assessed to find the best way to address an issue, with the final process chosen from a suite of assurance activities.
Reviews involve deep enquiry and can produce findings, conclusions and recommendations for improvement. Recommendations are shared and tracked to guide improvement and enhance excellence in Queensland's disaster management arrangements.
As per our legislated functions, the Office of the IGEM is undertaking the reviews shown above. The reviews will be based on the Standard for Disaster Management in Queensland.
